Wine of Origin Swartland

Three sites combine to produce our Swartland Syrah.

Langkloof Vineyard
Site:
Bush vines are planted on a northwest-facing slope at the foot of the Paardeberg.
Elevation:
290m ASL
Character:
The free-draining granitic soils help to produce grapes that brings perfume, spice, and a purity of fruit to the wine.
Riebeek West Mountains Vineyard
Site:
Situated on the western side of the Riebeek Mountains, this vineyard lies on a southeast-facing slope.
Elevation:
340m ASL
Character:
The pure schist soils, combined with the low-yields from these vines, lend enormous concentration of fruit, along with an earthiness, structure, and depth.
Leeuwenkuil Vineyard
Site:
The lowest of the three sites; situated on a north-eastern slope.
Elevation:
170m ASL
Character:
The bush vines on this slope are low-yielding vines, planted into Malmesbury shale soils. The site, vines, and relatively dry climate deliver concentrated fruit with impressive structure on the palate.
